We need to be fully backwards compatible, so the fix can't involve manual changes to affected stores.
Summary of current findings
For themes with stylesheets Shopify has declared as deprecated, is it sufficient to remedy the breaking change and prevent the themes from raising errors in the OSE? (determine how many published themes/merchants are affected)
If not:
- Is there an approach where we reliably with a high level of confidence, make these SCSS stylehseets work with datasources when each will compile differently?
- What can and can't we control for?
- Can we prevent SCSS themes from accessing brand datasources in their general settings?
